What are Vermögenswirksame Leistungen (VL)?
Vermögenswirksame Leistungen (also known as VL or VwL) are an additional benefit that some employers pay their employees on top of their regular salary. They can be translated as capital-forming benefits or wealth-building allowances.
Your employer transfers this amount directly into a savings plan in your name, up to a maximum of €40 per month. This money does not reduce your net or gross salary — it is an additional payment made by your employer on top of your wages.
Important: this benefit does not activate automatically. You must submit a savings plan to your employer. If you do not, you lose this money every month.
How does it work step by step?
The process is straightforward. We guide you through every step.
