When you visit the website: hosting and server logs<\/h3>\n<p>The website is hosted by a web hosting provider in the European Union, which processes the data on our behalf (Art. 28 GDPR). Every time you open a page, the server automatically records: your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, the page you came from, your browser and your operating system.<\/p>\n<p>We need this so that the website works and to detect and stop attacks. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a secure and stable website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). These logs are not combined with other data, are kept only as long as needed for the security of the website and are then deleted automatically.<\/p>\n<h3>4. Cookies and consent<\/h3>\n<p>Some features store information on your device or read it from your device (cookies and similar technologies). Under \u00a725 of the German TDDDG, this is only allowed with your consent, unless it is strictly necessary for the service you have requested.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Strictly necessary (no consent required, \u00a725(2) TDDDG):<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Real Cookie Banner<\/strong> stores your choice in a cookie for one year, so that we do not ask you again on every page. The plugin runs on our own server and does not send data to third parties.<\/li>\n<li><strong>WPML<\/strong> stores the language you have chosen in a session cookie.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Optional (only if you accept):<\/strong> Google Analytics, the Meta pixel and the LinkedIn tag (sections 10 to 12). They are not loaded until you accept.<\/p>\n<p>We keep a record of each consent (date, banner version and choice, without your IP address) for 10 years, so that we can prove we obtained it correctly (Art. 6(1)(c) and 7(1) GDPR).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Change or withdraw your consent:<\/strong> at any time, using the &#8220;Privacy settings&#8221; link in the footer of every page. Withdrawal applies from that moment; it does not affect processing carried out before.<\/p>\n<h3>5. Contact and advice<\/h3>\n<p>You can reach us through the form on the website, by email, by phone or via WhatsApp. To advise you, we need contact details (name, email, phone) and information about your situation: employment status, <strong>income<\/strong>, the insurance you already have and, for health or life insurance, <strong>health data<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>We use this to answer your enquiry, assess which insurance suits you and prepare quotes. The legal basis is the pre-contractual steps and the brokerage contract you request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).<\/p>\n<p>Health data is a special category of personal data. We only process it with your <strong>explicit consent<\/strong> (Art. 9(2)(a) GDPR), which we ask for in the form or before the conversation. You can withdraw it at any time, but without this data we cannot request quotes for health or life insurance.<\/p>\n<p>The forms store what you enter in our database and send it to us by email through an email delivery provider acting on our behalf (Art. 28 GDPR).<\/p>\n<h3>6. WhatsApp<\/h3>\n<p>If you write to us on WhatsApp, we use WhatsApp Business, provided by WhatsApp Ireland Limited (Merrion Road, Dublin 4, D04 X2K5, Ireland). WhatsApp receives your number and the content of the conversation, and may transfer data to Meta Platforms Inc. in the USA (see section 14). The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (your request) and, for health data, your explicit consent (Art. 9(2)(a) GDPR).<\/p>\n<p>If you prefer not to use WhatsApp, email or call us. More information: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whatsapp.com\/legal\/privacy-policy-eea\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WhatsApp privacy policy<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>7. Insurers and broker platform<\/h3>\n<p>As brokers, to request quotes and arrange insurance we have to pass your data to the insurers you choose to compare or take out a policy with, and to the broker platform we work with. We only share the data needed for each application; health data only with your explicit consent.<\/p>\n<p>The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR and, for health data, Art. 9(2)(a) GDPR. Each insurer is responsible for what it does with your data afterwards and informs you in its own privacy policy.<\/p>\n<h3>8. How long we keep client data<\/h3>\n<p>We keep the data from your enquiry for as long as the advice lasts. If you do not take out a policy, we delete it once we no longer need it, unless the law requires us to keep it.<\/p>\n<p>If you take out a policy through us, we keep it for as long as we look after you as a client and then for the statutory periods: 6 years for business correspondence (\u00a7257 HGB) and 10 years for accounting and tax records (\u00a7147 AO). We may also keep the advice documentation for as long as claims can be made in connection with it, under the limitation periods of the German Civil Code (\u00a7\u00a7195 and 199 BGB).<\/p>\n<h3>9. Blog comments<\/h3>\n<p>If you comment on a post, we store your name, email address, website (if you give one), the text of the comment, the date and your IP address. Your name, website and comment are published; your email address is not.<\/p>\n<p>Publication is based on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). We store the IP address on the basis of our legitimate interest in being able to act against unlawful or abusive comments (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Comments are kept until you ask us to delete them. A cookie with your details is only stored if you tick the relevant box below the form.<\/p>\n<h3>10. Google Analytics (only with your consent)<\/h3>\n<p>If you accept statistics, we use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland), to find out which pages are visited, for how long, on what type of device and where visits come from. This helps us improve the website.<\/p>\n<p>Google assigns your browser a pseudonymous identifier and stores the cookies <code>_ga<\/code> and <code>_ga_1KJ3YBXXKL<\/code> (2 years). According to Google, Analytics 4 does not store your IP address. In addition, the website tells Google that it does <strong>not<\/strong> have permission to use the data for advertising (Google Consent Mode).<\/p>\n<p>Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and \u00a725(1) TDDDG). Google keeps this data for up to 14 months. Data may be transferred to the USA (section 14). More information: <a href=\"https:\/\/policies.google.com\/privacy?hl=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Google privacy policy<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>11. Meta pixel (only with your consent)<\/h3>\n<p>If you accept marketing, we use the Meta pixel, provided by Meta Platforms Ireland Limited (Merrion Road, Dublin 4, D04 X2K5, Ireland). It helps us see whether people who come from our ads on Facebook and Instagram ask us for advice, and lets us show ads to people who have already visited the website or to similar profiles.<\/p>\n<p>The pixel stores the cookies <code>_fbp<\/code> and <code>fr<\/code> (3 months) and sends Meta the pages you visit and certain actions, such as submitting a request. If you fill in a form, it also sends your name, email, phone number and postcode in <strong>encrypted (hashed)<\/strong> form (&#8220;advanced matching&#8221;), so that Meta can recognise which account the visit belongs to.<\/p>\n<p>For the collection and transmission of this data we are <strong>joint controllers<\/strong> with Meta (Art. 26 GDPR), under the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/legal\/controller_addendum\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Meta joint controller addendum<\/a>. Meta is responsible for what it does with the data afterwards. You can exercise your rights regarding Meta&#8217;s processing directly with Meta.<\/p>\n<p>Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and \u00a725(1) TDDDG). LinkedIn Insight Tag (only with your consent)<\/h3>\n<p>If you accept marketing, we use the LinkedIn tag, provided by LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company (Wilton Plaza, Wilton Place, Dublin 2, Ireland). It helps us see whether people who come from our LinkedIn ads ask us for advice, lets us show ads to people who have already visited the website, and gives us aggregated statistics about visitors (for example, industry or job title). We never see who you are.<\/p>\n<p>LinkedIn stores, among others, the cookies <code>li_fat_id<\/code> (30 days), <code>bcookie<\/code> (1 year), <code>lidc<\/code> (1 day) and <code>UserMatchHistory<\/code> (30 days).<\/p>\n<p>Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and \u00a725(1) TDDDG). Data may be transferred to the USA (section 14). Links to social networks and YouTube<\/h3>\n<p>The website contains links to our social media profiles and to YouTube videos. These are ordinary links: no data is sent to those platforms until you click. From then on, each platform&#8217;s privacy policy applies.<\/p>\n<h3>14. Transfers outside the EU<\/h3>\n<p>Google, Meta and LinkedIn may process data in the USA. Their US parent companies are certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, for which the European Commission adopted an adequacy decision (Art. 45 GDPR). In addition, these providers use the European Commission&#8217;s standard contractual clauses (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR).<\/p>\n<h3>15. Your rights<\/h3>\n<p>You have the right to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>know what data about you we process (Art. 15 GDPR);<\/li>\n<li>have it corrected (Art. 16);<\/li>\n<li>have it deleted (Art. 17);<\/li>\n<li>restrict its processing (Art. 18);<\/li>\n<li>receive it in a structured format or have it passed to someone else (Art. 20);<\/li>\n<li>withdraw your consent at any time, with effect for the future (Art. 7(3)).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR):<\/strong> where we process data on the basis of legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)), you can object on grounds relating to your particular situation. Where the processing is for direct marketing, you can object at any time without giving reasons.<\/p>\n<p>To exercise any of these rights, write to us at <a href=\"mailto:info@bramex.de\">info@bramex.de<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. Other points<\/h3>\n<p>You are not obliged to give us your data, but without it we cannot advise you or request quotes. We do not make automated decisions or carry out profiling with legal effects for you (Art. 22 GDPR).<\/p>\n<h3>17.
